As a Miami native, Mia received her early training from prima ballerina Martha Mahr, and continued her instruction at Miami City Ballet School, joining its Pre-Professional Program and training under Arantxa Ochoa.

Upon completing the Pre-Professional Program, Mia continued her ballet education at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music Ballet Department where she trained with instructors Sarah Wroth, Michael Vernon, Carla Körbes, Kyra Nichols, Christian Claessens, and Sasha Janes. At Indiana University, Mia performed roles in notable ballets, including George Balanchine‘s Donizetti Variations, Marius Petipa’s Swan Lake (Four Little Swans), and Nicole Haskins’ Unearthing. She also performed original works by Michael Vernon, Sasha Janes, Gianna Reisen, and other legendary choreographers. Additionally, Mia has trained at Art Of Madrid, American Ballet Theatre, and School of American Ballet.

After graduating from Indiana University, Mia joined Ballet Tucson as an apprentice where she performed various original works, as well George Balanchine’s Serenade and Divertimento No. 15. She also performed in Chieko Imada’s world premiere of Eternal Love and her renditions of Paquita and Giselle.

Mia is extremely excited to be joining Golden State Ballet this season.
